Rielle Hunter Wants to Marry John Edwards Now

As friends and family mourning the death of Elizabeth Edwards, one celebrity news site waited a whole 12 hours before working the Rielle Huner angle.

The infamous mistress of John Edwards hopes she and the former Democratic presidential candidate can get married now, according to Radar Online.

A source close to Rielle Hunter says she "has been very patient" and "believes that John is her soul mate, and thinks they are going to get married."

To those who applauded her courage in dealing with John, who cheated on her and knocked up Rielle while Elizabeth battled cancer, this won't go over well.

At the time of Elizabeth Edwards' death, she was estranged from John. Radar's source revealed that Hunter has been closely watching Elizabeth's situation.

"She doesn't care about anyone but herself. She's been selfish and horrible this whole time, no matter what else has been said about her," the source said.

THG NOTE: That's pretty much all we've said about her.

Hunter currently lives in a home paid for by John Edwards. She lives there with their young daughter Quinn, the child John adamantly denied was his.

The National Enquirer busted him visiting Rielle and Quinn in a Beverly Hills hotel in 2008, after he lost the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama.

As for how Rielle will respond publicly to the news that Elizabeth has passed away, the source said they doubted what she said would be heartfelt.

She never expressed regret for her role in the scandal, even denying she was a home wrecker and basically blaming Elizabeth for John straying.

Basically, don't expect a lot of sympathy now. "She will say some nice things about Elizabeth, but only if it makes her look good," the source said.

How Rielle Hunter could possibly look good, we don't know.

In the wake of reports about Jason Trawick's alleged abuse of Britney Spears, the star and her camp are doing all they can to paint a picture of happiness.

Right after the scandal broke, Trawick whisked her off to a private, $5,000 a night villa in Conchas Chinas, Mexico, to mark her 29th birthday last week.

The duo denies and shrugs off the abuse rumor, with her telling Us, "My birthday weekend away with Jason was amazing. Best birthday of my life!"

There have been several theories, ranging from the star’s camp planting the rumor to generate buzz for her new album to Team Spears laboring to cover it up.

Some think the Mexican getaway was merely a publicity stunt designed to make the troubled couple appear happy. In truth, some say the superstar is trapped.

“Britney is a cash cow,” an insider says. “Her parents and management are trying to keep the scandal under wraps so it doesn’t affect her career - or the paychecks.”

What we don't understand is why, even if Britney Spears supposedly called Jason Alexander to vent about the abuse by Trawick, he would record the call.

Was he looking to sell her out for money? And did he edit it himself? Why did experts conclude the tape was doctored? Did Star know it was doctored?

If abuse did take place, we can understand why Brit would not want it to go public, but why stay with Jason and go through this charade afterward?

In her quest to remain the highest paid, least talented reality star on television, Kim Kardashian has come out with the latest item on which she simply slapped her name a new product:

A collection of wristwatches.

At the Los Angeles launch party for this line last night, Kim was asked about her recent split with Gabriel Aubry and delivered one of the funniest quotes of the year:

"My favorite part about being single is just that I can focus on work and not feel guilty."

It's true. We can only imagine how the hard work of attending various events and standing on the red carpet can get in the way of a relationship.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are reportedly getting married Saturday.

The location is Nicole’s father Lionel Richie’s house and the ceremony will be small and “winter-themed” ceremony, as “Nicole is obsessed with the season.”

She did name her daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, so we'll buy it.

“A stage is being built over the pool so the guests have more space to dance,” a source says. “It’s cool because people will be dancing on top of the water.”

Nicole made a trip to NYC to be fitted for her Marchesa wedding gown.

“Nicole brought her stylist Simone Harouche with her,” an insider says of her gown. “A lot of thought went into her dress - it was a huge priority for her.”

Joel and Nicole have decided to keep the guest list tight. “Mindy [Weiss, the wedding planner] called the guests personally,” a friend of the couple says.

“She didn’t invite a bunch of her celebrity friends,” an insider explains to Radar Online, a decision that “has apparently upset a bunch of people.”

But certain stars that are close to the couple, like Christina Aguilera and Lindsay Lohan’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, will most likely be there.

Nicole’s 2-year-old daughter Harlow will be the flower girl, and Lionel will escort Nicole down the aisle. Nicole’s BFF Masha Gordon will be maid of honor.

The best man? Benji Madden, of course!

In her never-ending quest for publicity, Kendra Wilkinson has hit a new low.

It's one thing for this reality star to make inane comments, such as insisting that moms can be sexy. Or to mislead the public about relatively harmless facts, such as a second pregnancy.

But in the latest issue of OK! Weekly, Kendra implies that she's recently suffered a miscarriage... when nothing could be further from the truth.

A miscarriage of morality: Kendra Wilkinson is pathetic.

What is the "TRAGIC NEWS" that makes Kendra a worthy individual to cover? Her son is spending some time with father Hank Baskett in Minnesota. Seriously. That's the extent of this story.

“Life has changed now,” Kendra tells the magazine. “It gets so lonely.”

We have a crazy idea in that case, Kendra: move to Minnesota! You're only remaining in Los Angeles to film your reality series and give it material to use for storylines.

People really need to stop buying these tabloids and watching this show. Wilkinson needs to go away.

Hey, what are friends for? Chelsea's gotta stick up for her girl. Kinda surprising she still feels so strongly after Brad nailed a Jen lookalike, but whatever.

Despite rumors that he's back with Cameron Diaz, Alex Rodriguez was spotted flirting with Real Housewives of NYC star Kelly Bensimon in Miami the other night.

At the Art Basel party at Wall, hosted by Vito Schnabel, Stavros Niarchos and Alex Dellal, "He had his arm 'round Kelly and they were flirting," a witness said.

The next day the two were seen browsing art at the Convention Center.

HOME RUN: What's not to like about this if you're A-Rod?

A source said, "While Alex was recently seen with Cameron Diaz again, they're not together. He is single." Reps for A-Rod and Bensimon have not commented.

What's not to love about this couple? They're both New York nightlife regulars, and the Rod likes his women a bit masculine (Madonna, Joslyn Noel Morse, etc).

These Kelly Bensimon bikini pictures, though? Kinda whack.

Sorry, Ashton Kutcher. Whether or not you had an affair with Brittney Jones, you're stuck being linked to this attention-starved 21-year old.

At least as far as Vivid Entertainment goes.

In response to the actor's letter to that porn distributor, in which he requested his name be removed from all Brittney Jones Confidential marketing material, CEO Steve Hirsch has come out and essentially said: don't blame us for this rumor!

Ashton Kutcher has gone from Punk'd to peeved over the release of a Brittney Jones sex tape.

"Details of the alleged affair have been widely reported in the press for months and we do not suggest in any way that Ashton Kutcher sponsors or endorses the video," Hirsch told E! News.

Adds Vivid attorney Michael Weremblewski, in a document addressed to Kutcher's lawyer, Robert D. Offer:

"Is your client alleging that Vivid somehow concocted a story that Mr. Kutcher had an affair with Brittney Jones, thereby damaging Mr. Kutcher's reputation? Mr. Kutcher's alleged affair with Brittney Jones has been widely reported in the press for several months.

"Therefore, we doubt the claim of substantial damages and placement of Mr. Kutcher in extreme jeopardy arises from Vivid's upcoming release of an adult video featuring his alleged mistress, Brittney Jones."

Seriously, it's unlikely the damages from Brittney Jones Confidential could be any worse to Kutcher's career than the ones from Killers or Valentine's Day, could they?

It's Captain Caveman -- make that Cavemaaaaaaan!

As a child of the mid’70s, I watched my fair share of jerkily animated, oddly psychedelic cartoons, and Captain Caveman was better than the rest. Sorry, Hong Kong Fuey and Grape Ape – a Caveman thawed from a block of ice to run around solving mysteries with the Teen Angels? Pure schlock genius. If you’re looking for Captain Caveman pictures for your Facebook profile, here’s a list of links that can help you out.

But first – which were your favorite 1970s cartoons? I loved “Scooby Doo” more than anything else, but technically that was produced in 1969, even though it had a very ’70s feel to it (see hipster Shaggy and ascot-wearing Freddie). Captain Caveman was my close second, and 90 percent of it was his battle cry of “Captain Cavemaaaaaaaaaan!” (This is why, sorry to my kids, SpongeBob just doesn’t do it for me.)
